The Space
3 guests | 1 bedroom | 2 beds | 1 private bath
Historic 1867 double-shotgun house is a brief ferry ride to the French Quarter, cafes, Mardi Gras and music venues. Your suite, comes complete with a kitchen, and is decorated with antiques, chandeliers, original and local artwork, and has ceiling fans and separate thermostat for your personal comfort. The suite has separate living and bedroom areas, private bath, Internet access, fully stocked kitchen, cable TV, and your own lighted and secure entrance.
The bedroom has a queen-sized bed appointed with crisp, luxurious percale sheets. Each guest has both a soft and firm pillow to choose from, or use both.
The living area has a kitchen and includes a medium-sized refrigerator to hold your leftovers for late-night snacking, coffee maker, 2-burner stove, full sized sink, and a large microwave/convection oven. A flat screen TV for watching the news or your favorite movies can be viewed from the sofa, which can be converted to a single bed if needed. Coffee and tea are supplied.
A full sized table completes the living area, and can be used for enjoying a bottle of wine, or to prepare for your upcoming business meeting. Free Internet access is included.
Indulge in a hot soak in the antique claw-foot tub, or close the curtains for a leisurely shower. Plush Egyptian cotton towels for your comfort and his/hers bathrobes for lounging about are included with the room fee.
The space can be rented long or short term. An iron and ironing board is available to look your best or just in case. Washer/dryer available upon request. There are a few (5-6) steps to access the space, but once inside there are none.
Guest Access
Guests have a private entrance to their suite and can come and go any time of the day or night. The entryway is lighted for safety and the premises has a security camera system in place. Ample on-street parking. Complete access to the main house and back gardens is only a request away!
Interaction with guests
We enjoy meeting new friends and talking. We would like very much to share a glass of wine, a meal, discuss New Orleans' many attractions, and do whatever we can to make our guests' visit a good one. However, we realize that most of our guests are here to tour and enjoy all New Orleans has to offer and, therefore, respect and understand that time to socialize is not always an option.
Other Things to Note
Once here, use of a car becomes optional. The Ferry to the French Quarter costs 2$ per person each way ($1 for seniors). Taxi service to/from the French Quarter is usually less than $25 plus tip. Ask about early or late check-in; we will do our best to accommodate.
